Our evolution

POKT Network is a fully open-source decentralized infrastructure protocol. If you want to explore further, please visit our Github Repositories linked below.

The POKT Network protocol first launched on Mainnet in July 2020 with our original protocol, called Morse. A major protocol upgrade, Shannon, is already live on public testnet and dates for Mainnet will be confirmed shortly.

The Live Protocol, Morse

We built our live protocol (Morse) on top of the Tendermint framework in the Cosmos ecosystem. Over time, we significantly modified the original Tendermint codebase to optimize for our specific use case.

Since launch, the protocol has served nearly 700 billion relays on over 50 different chains, using a network of around 15,000 nodes located in 22 countries.

The Future Protocol, Shannon

Under development since August 2023, our next major upgrade is named Shannon, after mathematician and cryptographer Claude Shannon, the father of information theory.

The Shannon upgrade is already live on public testnet and dates for Mainnet will be shared soon.
